Dances from South Sulawesi

South Sulawesi inhabited by various ethnic group. The biggest one—without intending to rule out other ethnic group—are Bugis, Makasar, Mandar and Toraja. Each has its own language and dance. However, outside of South Sulawesi, all ethnic groups are often classified as Bugis-Makassar. South Sulawesi dance is said to amount to 316 kinds of traditional dance, 98 of whom belong to the Bugis, 66 belong to the Makasar, 116 belong to the Mandar, and 36 belong to the Toraja.

Dance Bugis
